Area Manager - Dark Store

Role overview

The Area Manager will be responsible for supervising the performance and daily functioning of several departments or workstreams within a dark store setup in the North region of Saudi Arabia. This position focuses on keeping operations smooth, guiding teams effectively, improving processes, and helping the business deliver customer orders efficiently while meeting overall commercial goals.

Core responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate everyday activities across key dark store functions such as stock handling, order processing, quality checks, and customer-facing service operations.
• Keep team and operational targets on track, ensuring service agreements and performance goals are achieved or surpassed.
• Define clear expectations for team members, support their growth through coaching, and handle workforce planning to maintain a capable and engaged team.
• Review workflows regularly, spot opportunities to improve efficiency and output, and introduce better practices where needed.
• Track KPIs and operational data to evaluate the health and effectiveness of the teams and functions under your supervision.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a managerial capacity, preferably overseeing multiple dark stores, or in managerial roles within e-commerce or grocery retail operations.
• Strong working knowledge of dark store operations, including inventory control, fulfillment processes, and quality assurance.
• Good understanding of applicable regulations, compliance requirements, and safety procedures.
• Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to work closely with store staff, inventory teams, supply chain partners, and operations leadership.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Saudi Arabia.
