Role Overview
As an Analyst, Data Strategy, you will report to the Director, Data Strategy and Product Assurance and work closely with the Manager of Data Strategy. You will help drive the organization’s data strategy and governance efforts by partnering with cross-functional teams, collecting data requirements, supporting data roadmap activities, and making sure data usage aligns with business objectives.
In this role, you will use your analytics background to help maintain roadmaps, map process data flows, support project tracking tools, assist with product certification against governance standards, and contribute to the execution of the wider data strategy. You will also work alongside delivery teams and product managers to help ensure the analytics program supports the organization’s broader data goals.
This position is based initially at the temporary location at 20 York Mills Rd and later at the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Toronto Corporate Office. The role involves working with internal and external stakeholders at different levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Help implement data governance policies and partner with product owners so data products can be certified for approved use.
- Support upkeep of the data roadmap and keep it aligned with changing business priorities, new technologies, and new data sources.
- Build and sustain strong working relationships with data stewards, product owners, and other stakeholders to encourage collaboration and stewardship.
- Support the ongoing management and facilitation of the data strategy and roadmap.
- Assist with the intake of new data products by coordinating stakeholder communications, updating templates, and arranging governance and oversight meetings.
- Work with project managers and delivery teams to help design and deliver data products that add business value.
- Contribute to strengthening the organization’s data foundation by supporting policies, standards, and KPIs.
- Help develop and update training content, playbooks, and reference materials to encourage consistent adoption of governance practices.
- Provide ongoing support and training related to product certification requirements.
- Support execution of the data strategy.
- Track and report budget usage across data and analytics initiatives, including major variances and possible risks.
- Prepare program-level budget and spending summaries to support planning and prioritization.
- Work with data and analytics teams to prepare early cost and resource estimates for new project requests.
- Monitor program budget and performance.
- Look for opportunities to improve data management processes through innovation and continuous improvement.
- Promote data-driven decision-making and help build a culture that values the use of data.
- Research and advocate for ways data can support Four Seasons strategy.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area such as Data Management, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or Informatics.
- Solid understanding of data governance frameworks and core principles.
- Experience working with the data lifecycle.
- Proven ability to connect data strategy with business objectives.
- Background in developing and implementing data strategies.
- Ability to adjust data strategy as business needs and market conditions change.
- Analytical thinking with the ability to spot trends, identify anomalies, and turn complex data into practical insights and actions.
- Experience using data governance tools and technologies such as Informatica.
- Strong understanding of data protection rules and compliance requirements.
- Practical exposure to data governance and/or data management.
- Knowledge of leading data governance practices in the industry.
- Familiarity with the implementation and use of multiple data governance tools and software.
- Working knowledge of DAMA DMBOK principles.
- Understanding of the full data lifecycle and its governance needs.
- Knowledge of GDPR and related laws.
- Ability to manipulate, analyze, and transform large datasets to identify patterns and trends.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms, with Microsoft Azure preferred, including Microsoft Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Power BI.
- Proficiency in SQL or another programming language.
- Experience with data visualization and dashboard creation using tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
- Advanced skill with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Working knowledge of project management tools such as Monday.com and Jira.

Additional Information
This role follows a hybrid work model and requires on-site work for 3 days per week at the temporary location at 20 York Mills Road, Toronto, Ontario, with travel as needed to the Four Seasons Corporate Office at 1165 Leslie Street, Toronto, Ontario.

Compensation
