Role overview

Oliver's Market is hiring a full-time Wellness Clerk 3 for its Windsor location in the Wellness department. This role combines customer service with stocking and merchandising to help the department stay organized, well supplied, and profitable.

Compensation and schedule

This is a regular full-time position paying $19.00 to $22.00 per hour. The schedule requires complete open availability, and weekend work is mandatory.

Key duties

• Support shoppers by delivering prompt, friendly service and responding to questions quickly and effectively.
• Build strong product knowledge across wellness items such as vitamins, supplements, body care, and related aisle locations.
• Keep the sales floor in good shape through merchandising, facing, inventory rotation, display setup, and accurate signage.
• Help maintain stock levels by ordering and replenishing products when directed by the Wellness Manager.
• Maintain professional and cooperative working relationships with customers and team members.
• Answer phones and pages in a courteous and timely way.
• Follow store procedures for weights and measures, sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Report hazards or safety concerns to supervisors right away.
• Carry out opening, mid-shift, and closing responsibilities as assigned.
• Attend required shifts, trainings, and meetings, and complete other tasks assigned by supervisors.

Skills and qualifications

Applicants should be at least 18 years old. Prior retail or grocery experience is preferred. The role calls for a basic understanding of vitamins, supplements, and body care products, along with awareness of current trends in both natural and conventional wellness items. Candidates should be comfortable using basic computer tools to look up product information, following directions carefully, and juggling multiple priorities in a busy, changing environment. Clear verbal and written communication, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and solid basic math skills are also important.

Education, certificates, and licenses

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Physical and work environment requirements

• You may work around flour, grains, dairy, fresh produce, nuts, and other food allergens.
• The job involves frequent lifting and carrying of 10 pounds and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Expect constant standing and walking during the workday.
• Tasks include bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and motions involving the neck and waist.
• Hand work includes gripping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• You may sometimes work in very hot or cold environments, including areas near freezers, coolers, ovens, stovetops, grills, and outdoor conditions in all weather.
• Work may occasionally involve wet or dry surfaces.
• Ladders or step stools may be needed at times.
• There may be exposure to cleaning chemicals approved by the FDA, as well as equipment-related fumes and gases.
• You will work around tools and equipment such as knives, PPE, forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks, six-wheel carts, and balers.
• Noise from machinery and equipment may occur intermittently.
• Non-slip, water-resistant, oil-resistant closed-toe shoes are required.
