Role overview
GFL Environmental Inc. is hiring a Wash Bay Attendant in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. This is a full-time, on-site position focused on keeping trucks, equipment, and the wash bay area clean and organized, while also supporting basic shop operations and record keeping.
Key responsibilities
- Wash trucks and equipment in the truck bay area using a pressure washer.
- Move trucks between the parking area and the wash bay to prepare them for cleaning.
- Handle simple administrative tasks connected to logging completed work.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the truck wash area.
- Collect parts for mechanics and help with general tasks in the shop.
- Raise the cab or body of trucks when needed.
- Follow all relevant federal, provincial/state, and local laws, regulations, ordinances, and company directives.
- Carry out any additional duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Prior related experience of 1 to 3 months is preferred, though not essential.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with others.
- Capability to work from instructions and complete tasks with limited supervision.
Physical demands
- Must be able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds by hand.
Working conditions
- Frequent exposure to loud noise.
- Regular contact with humidity, hot weather, cold weather, moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles.
