Role Overview

The McLean Group is looking for a driven and detail-focused Valuation Analyst/Associate to join its Valuation Advisory practice in Tysons Corner, VA. In this role, you will support a broad client base across multiple industries by performing valuation work for companies, complex securities, and intangible assets. Projects may relate to financial reporting, tax compliance, equity compensation plans, transaction advisory assignments, and litigation support. This is a strong opportunity to deepen your exposure to advanced financial analysis and valuation techniques while contributing to client decisions and the firm’s overall success.

What You Will Do

  • Carry out detailed valuation assignments using a range of approaches, including discounted cash flow analysis, public company and precedent transaction market multiples, and option-pricing models.
  • Research companies, industries, competitors, and market trends thoroughly to support valuation assumptions and conclusions.
  • Build and prepare valuation reports and presentation materials that clearly explain methods, assumptions, and results to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Work directly with C-level executives and other key stakeholders during engagements, including visiting client sites when needed.
  • Contribute to market insights and thought-leadership pieces by analyzing valuation topics and emerging trends for clients and the broader market.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or another related discipline with a strong analytical base.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or a related analytical area is preferred, though not mandatory.
  • Solid hands-on experience with financial modeling and data analysis, along with strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and the ability to distill complex information into clear summaries.
