The Launceston General Hospital Communications team plays a vital part in keeping hospital communication systems running smoothly and reliably. Key duties

• Provide a professional, efficient service for incoming and outgoing telephone enquiries.
• Handle enquiries from members of the public as well as hospital employees.
• Operate internal paging and wider-area paging systems for hospital communications.
• Take and page emergency code calls within the hospital.
• Complete administrative tasks that help staff, including duty and on-call doctors and other ancillary personnel, stay contactable.
• Support timely and professional responses that assist patient care.
• Work effectively in a busy, fast-moving environment.

Employment details

This recruitment covers multiple permanent positions, both full-time and part-time, with shift work required. The standard workload is 76 hours per fortnight, with commencement as soon as possible. Hours can be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary and benefits

The salary range is $68,854 to $73,947 per annum, with an additional employer superannuation contribution of 12% on top of base pay. The salary range aligns with the Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2025.

Eligible employees may access salary packaging benefits, including living expenses up to $9,010 plus up to $2,650 for meal entertainment each FBT year, along with other eligible benefits.
