Stellenbeschreibung
Role overview
This role supports a major upgrade of the One Automation (UC4) platform, which is a key part of the Irish Water technical environment. The system is used to coordinate on-premise processes for Oracle and the integration platform.
The assignment involves moving UC4 from version 10 to One Automation version 21.0, along with relocating existing scheduling jobs and related components into the new setup. New servers and databases will be prepared across production and non-production environments, followed by installation and configuration of the updated platform.
Environment setup
The new landscape includes the following infrastructure:
- Production: 2 AE virtual machines and 2 AWI virtual machines
- Non-production: 2 virtual machines, each containing AE and AWI
- Production database: AE database
- Non-production database: AE database
Key delivery requirements
The selected professional will be expected to install the latest One Automation (UC4) release on the new on-premise client servers in both non-production and production environments. The same upgrade activity will also be carried out on the connected on-premise agent servers across both environments.
Environment configuration will need to cover SIT, UAT, pre-production and production, with connectivity validated between all agents and the client. SIT, UAT and pre-production will be created separately within the non-production landscape.
All jobs, events, schedules and related UC4 components must be migrated from the existing instance to the new platform under a big-bang migration model, subject to final approval of the approach. A full assessment will be needed, including documentation of the current UC4 estate such as job counts, dependencies and other As-Is details.
Testing and go-live support
Testing will include verification of jobs, events and schedules with integrated systems such as CC&B and Maximo, coordinated to match the BAU release timetable. Additional test activities such as PEN and OAT testing will also be required.
Support is expected during SIT and UAT, followed by cutover planning for production. During cutover, dependent systems will update their endpoints to point to the new UC4 client and agents, while the existing UC4 jobs are stopped and the new platform is made live. Careful planning will be essential.
After go-live, post-production support will be needed until the solution is fully stable and operating as intended.
