Role summary

In this position, you will deliver high-standard, person-centred support within a small residential setting. The aim is to help individuals build confidence, strengthen independence, and live meaningful daily lives with dignity and choice.

Key duties

• Provide tailored support based on each person’s individual needs, with a strong focus on independence, self-care, and community inclusion
• Work alongside service users to identify, review, and progress personal goals
• Assist with day-to-day living while respecting dignity, autonomy, and informed decision-making
• Encourage the development of everyday life skills and personal confidence
• Keep clear and accurate records and contribute to support planning
• Take part in reflective practice to help improve care quality over time
• Join training, supervision, and team-based activities to support service delivery

Candidate profile

Requirements

• Minimum FETAC Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support, Social Care, or a similar qualification
• Strong written and spoken English, along with good IT, planning, and report-writing skills
• Full, clean driving licence is essential
• Willingness to undergo Garda Vetting
• Ability to provide two references
• Legal permission to work in Ireland; sponsorship is not available
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and best practice
• Ability to work well in a fast-moving environment

Accepted qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support
• Pre-Nursing Studies
• Professional Qualification in Teaching, excluding TEFL
• Family Support Practitioner qualification at minimum Level 6 NFQ
• Any equivalent nationally recognised qualification in social care, childcare, family support, or education

Employment details

This is a permanent role offered on both full-time and part-time terms. The salary range is €29,406 to €32,448 depending on experience.
