Role overview

Haven Bay Care Centre is seeking a Staff Nurse to join its team in Kinsale, Co. Cork. The post involves supporting senior nursing leadership while helping to deliver safe, respectful, and high-quality care for residents.

What the role involves

• Assist the Director of Care, Clinical Nurse Manager, and Senior Staff Nurse in carrying out their duties across the full scope of their responsibilities.
• Set and uphold strong professional and ethical standards while maintaining a consistently high level of resident care.
• Follow NMBI guidance for the administration of medicines and comply with the Misuse of Drugs Act.
• Work collaboratively within the wider team, recognising and valuing each team member’s contribution.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues at all levels across Haven Bay.
• Keep all information obtained during the course of work strictly confidential.
• Provide induction training to newly appointed nursing and care staff.
• Ensure every resident receives an individual assessment based on their needs and that person-centred care plans are created, reviewed, evaluated, and adjusted as care needs change.
• Deliver nursing care that is tailored to the individual and holistic in approach to support resident wellbeing.
• Develop supportive relationships with residents and their families, communicate clearly, and keep them informed of relevant changes.
• Supervise care assistants and assign duties as needed.

Candidate profile

• Previous experience working with older adults is required.
• Strong communication skills and fluent English are essential.
• Working knowledge of HIQA standards is expected.
• A valid NMBI decision letter is required.
• A valid NMBI PIN is required.
