Nua Healthcare Services is among Ireland’s established care providers, delivering residential support, supported living, day services, and community outreach for children and adults with complex support needs. The organisation is seeking caring, driven, and committed Social Care Workers to help individuals make progress toward their goals, increase independence, and build meaningful lives in their communities.
What the role involves
As a Social Care Worker, you will deliver person-centred care and practical day-to-day support to people using the service. The position also offers ongoing learning, training, and progression so you can continue to strengthen your skills while building positive working relationships with colleagues, families, individuals supported, and external professionals.
- Help individuals plan, structure, and manage everyday routines and activities.
- Support active participation in local community life to encourage inclusion, independence, and social connection.
- Assist with education, training, skills-building, and personal goal achievement.
- Promote independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending appointments, and maintaining family and social ties.
- Follow company policies, procedures, standards, regulations, and codes of practice in line with organisational and legal requirements.
- Work flexibly across a 24-hour, 7-day service to meet service needs and maintain continuity of support.
Requirements
The role calls for a person with the right qualification, professional registration where relevant, and a genuine commitment to supporting others. Experience is helpful but not mandatory.
- Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Social Care, Social Studies, or a related field.
- Registration with the appropriate professional body, including CORU registration where applicable.
- Prior experience in a social care or support environment is preferred but not essential.
- Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a sincere interest in helping people live fulfilling and independent lives.
- Strong communication and people skills to build effective relationships with individuals, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Good organisational ability and comfort working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Full driving licence, or active progress toward obtaining one.
- Flexibility and dependability to work a variety of shifts based on service requirements.

Salary: Frontline pay on the company scale.
Working pattern: Shift-based rota over 7 days, with flexible coverage across a 24-hour service.
