Role overview

The Site Reliability Engineer will own the stability, availability, performance, and scalability of infrastructure and applications. This position centers on automating operational work, supporting cloud and Kubernetes platforms, maintaining delivery pipelines, observing system health, and quickly resolving production incidents. The SRE will work with engineering teams to build secure, resilient, and efficient systems that enable continuous delivery and business expansion.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the cloud environment by tracking uptime and assessing overall system health from an end-to-end perspective.
• Develop software and tooling that supports platform infrastructure and application operations.
• Raise the reliability, quality, and delivery speed of the organization’s software products.
• Monitor and improve system performance while anticipating future demand and customer needs.
• Provide hands-on operational and engineering support for several large distributed applications.
• Collect and evaluate metrics from operating systems and applications to support performance tuning and issue diagnosis.
• Work with development teams to strengthen services through thorough testing and release practices.
• Contribute to system architecture discussions, platform operations, and capacity planning.
• Build durable systems and services by increasing automation and carrying out platform improvements.
• Balance rapid feature delivery with reliability goals defined through service-level objectives.
• Roll out updates and corrective fixes in production environments.
• Create internal tools that reduce errors and improve the customer experience.
• Investigate incidents and perform root cause analysis for production failures.
• Troubleshoot technical problems and drive them to resolution.
• Design and document troubleshooting and maintenance processes for systems.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline is preferred, though equivalent experience may substitute for formal education.
• At least 3 years of experience in a comparable role such as SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Practical experience administering Kubernetes environments.
• Hands-on use of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform, including AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI.
• Proven ability to design, build, and troubleshoot large-scale systems.
• Experience creating CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitOps practices.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Loki, Jaeger, and Sentry.
• Experience managing databases, including backup and restore planning, replication, and clustering, with systems such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Solid networking knowledge, preferably including VPNs and service mesh technologies.
