Role Overview

As a Senior Engineer on the Context Engine team, you will help create the core infrastructure that AI agents rely on to gather, assemble, and use context, with Redis as the underlying platform. The role sits on a compact, globally distributed team that moves quickly, experiments openly, and gives senior engineers broad ownership.

This position is best suited to builders who have launched products from the ground up or founded companies, and who are comfortable turning strong product instincts into shipped software without waiting for detailed specifications.

What You Will Do

• Design and build the systems that produce, transform, and serve context for AI agents, with an emphasis on performance, relevance, and scalability.
• Work in rapid build-test-ship cycles and keep momentum high while balancing speed with working software.
• Influence product strategy directly by partnering with leadership on what to build and why.
• Develop production-quality services in Go and help establish engineering standards for the team.
• Use agentic development tools and AI-assisted workflows as part of your everyday engineering process.
• Take end-to-end responsibility for the systems you own, from design through production support.

What You Need

• At least 5 years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering, with proven success delivering production systems.
• Deep proficiency in Go.
• Practical experience building AI agents or agent-driven systems, including how they plan, reason, and use tools.
• Comfort using AI-powered coding tools and modern agentic development workflows.
• A strong history of self-direction and accountability in environments that require independent judgment.
• Well-formed views on agents, context, and AI infrastructure, supported by real implementations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across a distributed global team.

Nice to Have

• Experience as a founder or early-stage builder, including starting a company or launching a product from zero to one.
• Exposure to data infrastructure, streaming systems, or real-time platforms such as Kafka, Flink, or Redis.
• Background in ML infrastructure, vector search, or retrieval-augmented generation systems.
• Open-source contributions in AI/ML or data infrastructure.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, along with modern deployment practices.
