About the company
Fig is a Canadian fintech focused on making personal borrowing easier, quicker, and more accessible for people across Canada. The company provides fully digital personal loans so customers can apply in minutes and get decisions rapidly, without needing paperwork, branch appointments, or long waiting periods.
Founded in 2023, Fig has expanded rapidly and has received recognition such as Consumer Lender of the Year and FinTech Startup of the Year. It is also regularly listed among Canada’s Best Workplaces and holds a 4.8/5 Trustpilot customer rating.
Backed by Fairstone Bank of Canada and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, the business blends established lending knowledge with startup speed and flexibility.
About the role
This is a strong opportunity to join early and help shape a major growth effort from the start. In this role, you will work with senior leaders across the organization to turn new product concepts into scalable businesses, defining strategy, building customer and operational experiences, and driving delivery from idea through launch and growth.
The position is highly cross-functional and suited to someone who enjoys building from the ground up, navigating uncertainty, solving operational complexity, and moving work forward hands-on. You will be expected to think strategically, coordinate execution, use modern tools and AI in practical ways, and actively contribute to making things happen.
This is an existing opening, so you will have the chance to help define the mandate, establish core processes, and make a visible impact as the company continues to grow.
What you will do
- Support the creation and rollout of the next wave of Fig’s financial products and contribute to expansion into new product lines.
- Partner with senior leadership on product direction, launch planning, operating models, and execution priorities for new initiatives.
- Convert uncertain ideas into scalable customer journeys, systems, workflows, and operating processes.
- Drive important cross-functional projects with teams across Product, Engineering, CX, Compliance, Credit, Fraud, and Marketing, plus outside vendors and technical partners.
- Work closely with external development teams and implementation partners to keep delivery on track and maintain quality.
- Shape customer experience design, support structures, launch playbooks, and operational processes with scalability, speed, resilience, and customer satisfaction in mind.
- Create the core building blocks needed to scale new offerings, including tools, reporting, governance, vendor operations, and internal workflows.
- Spot operational risks, unusual scenarios, and delivery gaps early, then work directly with stakeholders to resolve them in practical ways.
- Use data, customer feedback, testing, and new technologies to challenge assumptions, set priorities, and improve results over time.
- Prepare clear documentation, decision materials, and executive-ready updates that keep teams aligned and moving quickly.
- Take part in major product, operational, and go-to-market decisions as the company enters new product categories.
What you should bring
- Background in building and launching new products, programs, or operational initiatives from concept through execution and scale.
- Strong judgment across product and operations, with the ability to weigh customer experience, scalability, speed, and risk in complex settings.
- Experience in fintech, lending, banking, payments, or another regulated industry where process details and edge cases are important.
- Proven ability to independently move ambiguous, cross-functional work forward and turn open-ended ideas into structured plans.
- Experience working with internal stakeholders as well as external partners such as vendors, agencies, or implementation teams.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to align technical, operational, and business groups.
- Comfort working in fast-changing environments where priorities shift and systems or processes may still be under development.
- A proactive, resourceful, and hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership and willingness to jump into problems directly.
- Strong analytical thinking and comfort using data to make decisions, diagnose issues, and improve outcomes.
- Interest in AI tools and emerging technologies, with a practical mindset for using them to improve execution, workflows, and customer experience.
