Senior Director, Purchasing

Position Overview

Juwelier Roller is hiring a Senior Director, Purchasing for a full-time remote role in the United States. This position leads the procurement function end to end, with responsibility for shaping purchasing strategy, managing suppliers, keeping costs under control, and improving procurement workflows so the business can run efficiently and support long-term growth.

Experience from jewelry, luxury goods, manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, or similar industries is especially valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the purchasing department’s day-to-day operations and long-term planning.
• Create, assess, and maintain supplier networks to support a reliable supply chain.
• Lead contract discussions with vendors and sustain strong supplier relationships.
• Track and reduce procurement spend while increasing buying efficiency.
• Build procurement plans aligned with business requirements and ensure timely execution.
• Watch market movements and update sourcing strategies when conditions change.
• Work closely with production, operations, quality, and other internal teams.
• Design, refine, and enforce procurement processes and governance standards.
• Manage, coach, and develop the purchasing team.
• Handle additional duties related to procurement as assigned by the company.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• At least 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain functions.
• Minimum 5 years of experience leading teams.
• Solid understanding of purchasing workflows, supplier management, and contract administration.
• Strong communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to analyze data and solve complex problems effectively.
• Capable of independently driving initiatives and delivering outcomes.
• Comfortable using standard office applications and ERP platforms.
• International sourcing or global supplier management experience is preferred.
• Background in procurement optimization or cost-reduction projects is preferred.
• Experience with ERP and procurement tools is preferred.
• Strong business negotiation and contract handling capability is preferred.
• Experience collaborating across functions and managing projects is preferred.
• Ability to perform well in a fast-moving environment is preferred.
• Experience in team development, hiring, and performance management is preferred.
