Role Overview

This position is for an experienced Scrum Master based in Pune, India. The role sits in a complex delivery environment where the project is primarily waterfall in nature, so strong tracking discipline in MS Project is important alongside Agile leadership. The ideal candidate will bring solid Scrum expertise, strong stakeholder coordination, and hands-on experience working with MES or industrial automation programs.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Proven background serving as a Scrum Master on Agile software development initiatives.
• Ability to work in a project setup that is largely waterfall-based and to manage tracking through MS Project.
• Deep working knowledge of Agile and Scrum practices, events, and delivery standards.
• Practical experience leading sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Capability to remove blockers and settle team conflicts effectively.
• Strong communication skills, stakeholder handling ability, and coordination across different locations.
• Experience using Agile delivery tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Exposure to Manufacturing Execution Systems or comparable industrial automation domains.
• Understanding of SDLC and DevOps concepts.
• Comfort with metrics-based delivery using measures such as velocity, burndown, and defect density.
• Ability to encourage continuous improvement and build a cooperative team culture.

Preferred Background

• Experience in semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, or similar industries.
• Familiarity with MES platforms such as Critical Manufacturing, GE Proficy, or custom-built MES solutions.
• Knowledge of COTS MES customization and deployment.
• Exposure to technologies including Angular, React, Node.js, C++, .NET, Oracle, Jenkins, Docker, and Linux.
• Experience using GenAI tools to speed up SDLC activities such as code review and test script generation.
• Advanced Agile certifications such as SAFe Agile or Professional Scrum Master.
• Experience working with distributed onsite-offshore teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead all Scrum ceremonies and ensure the team follows Agile principles.
• Work closely with the Product Owner, Solution Architect, and development team to keep the backlog and sprint goals clear.
• Monitor and share key Agile metrics including velocity, defect density, sprint completion, and backlog health.
• Identify obstacles early and take action to clear them.
• Build a work environment centered on transparency, accountability, and ongoing improvement.
• Coordinate effectively between onsite and offshore teams to keep delivery aligned.
• Support knowledge transfer, onboarding, and team ramp-up efforts.
• Partner with QA, DevOps, and other functions to support smooth delivery.
• Ensure adherence to architecture, security, and quality requirements.
• Manage risk identification, mitigation planning, and escalation when required.
• Encourage the use of GenAI and automation tools to improve productivity and quality.
• Keep documentation current and maintain traceability across requirements, user stories, and deliverables.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, or a related discipline is required.
