Role Summary
The company is hiring a Scale Clerk for a Monday-to-Friday schedule, with overtime available on Saturdays. This role focuses on accurately capturing material weights, supporting customers, and keeping transaction records organized and up to date.
What the Role Involves
- Use the scale system to measure incoming and outgoing metal loads correctly.
- Enter weight details and related data into the computer system or paper-based records.
- Welcome customers and assist them in a courteous, professional way.
- Keep complete records of transactions, weights, material categories, and customer details.
- Check IDs and paperwork for drivers, carriers, and vehicles, then issue receipts and process payments accurately.
- Support day-to-day administration by answering calls, replying to emails, and keeping files organized.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should have prior experience in a scale house operator role or experience in a customer-facing environment. Strong interpersonal abilities, solid communication skills, and comfort working with computers and scale software are important. The position also requires the ability to manage cash transactions and maintain precise records.
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting hourly pay is CAD 25.75, with overtime paid after 44 hours.
