Role overview

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Technical Consultant for SAP SAC with 4 to 8 years of experience. The role calls for hands-on knowledge across modules and the ability to work on technical design, integrations, testing, and documentation in a consulting environment.

Core technical work

The selected professional will work with SAP SAC capabilities such as Models, Stories, Calculations, Data Actions, live and import connections, authorizations, and basic planning concepts. The position also involves integration work with SAP and non-SAP systems using API, file-based interfaces, OData, and REST, along with awareness of CPI/PI/PO flows where relevant.

Documentation and solution design

A key part of the job is converting Functional Specifications into Technical Specifications. You will also prepare design documents, object flow diagrams, interface mappings, unit test cases with results, technical user guides, and knowledge transfer material. The role requires the ability to convert business needs into workable technical solutions while raising clarification points where needed.

Business and communication responsibilities

You should be able to understand business process maps for the relevant modules, identify technical touchpoints in process flows, and support discussions around requirements and defects. The role also includes participation in KT sessions and end-user walkthroughs, so clear communication is important.

Standards and quality expectations

Work must follow established project standards, including naming conventions, performance expectations, and security requirements. A working understanding of authorizations and basic security practices in the relevant track is also expected.
