Role overview

The Sales Engineer will combine technical understanding with customer-facing sales work to help expand business in the heavy engineering and machining space.

Key responsibilities

• Use technical knowledge to support the sales process and explain product suitability.
• Understand the customer’s requirements and match them with the right solution.
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
• Prepare proposals and handle related documentation.
• Share feedback from the market and customers with internal teams.
• Resolve customer concerns through practical problem-solving.
• Work toward sales targets and business growth goals.
• Identify and develop new customer accounts.
• Spot opportunities for new product development or product expansion.

Candidate profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in sales engineering or a closely related technical sales role.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Experience in the heavy engineering machinery parts manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Should have knowledge of machining processes and forging operations.
• Strong communication skills in English and Hindi are important.
• Local candidates are preferred, or the candidate should be willing to relocate to Kolkata.
