Restaurant Cashier

Position Overview

This is a permanent, full-time cashier role based at New Ambassador Hotel in Harare. The position sits within the food and beverage function and reports to the Food & Beverage Supervisor. The employer is seeking an appropriately qualified professional to join the restaurant team in an internal vacancy.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests, respond to their questions, engage with them appropriately, and gather feedback about their dining experience.
• Oversee day-end bill reconciliations and make sure all charges have been accurately posted after the shift.
• Carry out cashiering duties for the restaurant.
• Be familiar with the hotel’s emergency procedures and act in line with them when needed.

Job Requirements

• Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management.
• Working knowledge of the Micros system.
• Between 2 and 3 years of experience in a similar position.
• Strong planning ability and a customer service mindset.
• Capable of working with limited supervision.
• Good time management skills.
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
• Sound commercial awareness and business understanding.
• Very strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
