Role overview
This contract opportunity is centred on helping define the visual identity and creative direction of a new international swimwear and lifestyle label. The brand is built around body positivity and confidence for women, with particular attention to curvier body shapes, larger busts, and lipoedema. You will work closely on the first collection and turn moodboards and brand concepts into contemporary, comfortable, and feminine swimwear ideas.
The assignment also includes the development of patterns and prints with a tropical influence, along with support for a long-term creative relationship aimed at bringing the brand’s distinctive vision to market.
Deliverables
- Create original concept sketches for bikini shorts, swim tops, and tankinis designed for curvy and diverse body types.
- Develop patterns and prints that align with a modern, feminine, and tropical design direction.
- Contribute to brand-building work, including refinement of existing moodboards and logo ideas.
- Share design revisions, respond to feedback, and refine work until the desired outcome is reached.
- Prepare manufacturer-ready files and technical specifications for production.
Requirements
- Background in fashion design or brand design, ideally with experience in swimwear or women’s apparel.
- A strong portfolio showing capability in garment design, print creation, and pattern development.
- Clear understanding of fit, comfort, and styling needs for curvy and diverse body shapes.
- Comfort using design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD applications.
- Ability to translate moodboards and brand ideas into a unified visual identity.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative working style.
- Familiarity with current swimwear trends, fabrics, and sustainable material options is advantageous.
- Willingness to support an ongoing collaboration and meet project timelines consistently.
