About the practice

This role sits within White Cross Vets, Eccleshill, part of a leading UK veterinary care group that supports the health of more than 2 million animals. The team places people at the centre of its work and values respectful communication, shared decision-making, and a supportive workplace culture.

The practice team includes 2 veterinary surgeons, 3 registered veterinary nurses, 1 student veterinary nurse and 2 client care advisors. The environment is well equipped for modern clinical work, with dental radiography, digital radiography, a recently installed ultrasound machine, an in-house laboratory and an in-house Sedivue system for urine testing. The clinic is also working toward ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic status.

Working pattern

This is a full-time position for 37.5 hours per week. Usual shifts are either 08:30 to 16:30 or 11:00 to 19:00. The rota includes one Saturday in four at the Stanningley branch from 08:00 to 12:30, with time off during the week provided in exchange for Saturday working.

Key duties

• Support surgical patients during recovery and monitoring.
• Provide nursing care for inpatients.
• Carry out a range of nurse consultations.
• Produce radiographs, including dental imaging.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing.
• Work closely with vets and the wider team to deliver high-quality patient care and a positive client experience.
• Help maintain clinical standards and contribute to the continued development of nursing care in the practice.

The ideal candidate is a confident, motivated registered veterinary nurse who enjoys teamwork and is committed to excellent standards of care. You should bring registration with the RCVS, practical clinical experience, and increasing confidence in both medical and surgical nursing. Strong client and colleague communication, good planning and workload management, and a proactive attitude toward learning and self-improvement are also important.

Compensation
