About the practice

This role sits within White Cross Vets, Eccleshill, part of a leading UK veterinary care group that supports the health of more than 2 million animals. The team places people at the centre of its work and values respectful communication, shared decision-making, and a supportive workplace culture.

The practice team includes 2 veterinary surgeons, 3 registered veterinary nurses, 1 student veterinary nurse and 2 client care advisors. The environment is well equipped for modern clinical work, with dental radiography, digital radiography, a recently installed ultrasound machine, an in-house laboratory and an in-house Sedivue system for urine testing. The clinic is also working toward ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic status.

Working pattern

This is a full-time position for 37.5 hours per week. Usual shifts are either 08:30 to 16:30 or 11:00 to 19:00. The rota includes one Saturday in four at the Stanningley branch from 08:00 to 12:30, with time off during the week provided in exchange for Saturday working.

Key duties

  • Support surgical patients during recovery and monitoring.
  • Provide nursing care for inpatients.
  • Carry out a range of nurse consultations.
  • Produce radiographs, including dental imaging.
  • Perform in-house laboratory testing.
  • Work closely with vets and the wider team to deliver high-quality patient care and a positive client experience.
  • Help maintain clinical standards and contribute to the continued development of nursing care in the practice.
