Role overview

ABM UK is hiring an in-house Recruiter to support a mix of high-volume and specialist hiring across several business areas. The role partners closely with hiring managers in Facilities Management and Tech/Engineering to attract and hire talent for technical positions such as Mobile Gas Engineers, Air Conditioning Engineers, Refrigeration & Chiller Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Fabric Engineers, as well as operational roles in Cleaning, Security, and Facilities Services.

This position suits a recruiter who enjoys a busy environment, is comfortable managing several vacancies at once, and can build strong talent pipelines using multiple sourcing channels. The right person will be organised, adaptable, and proactive, with the ability to balance urgent hiring needs and specialist recruitment while maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders.

Working pattern and location

Location: Hybrid. Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Salary: Competitive.

Key responsibilities

  • Run end-to-end recruitment activity across a wide mix of technical, engineering, and frontline operational roles.
  • Work with hiring managers to understand role needs, workforce planning, and hiring priorities.
  • Find candidates through job boards, social media, networking, referrals, talent pools, and direct sourcing.
  • Review applications, screen candidates, and share suitable recommendations with hiring managers.
  • Arrange interviews, assessments, and offer stages while keeping the candidate experience positive.
  • Develop and maintain talent pipelines for roles that are hired regularly, including engineering, cleaning, and security.
  • Assist with large-scale recruitment drives and mobilisation activity when needed.
  • Monitor hiring progress and give regular updates to hiring managers and other stakeholders.
  • Support ABM's employer brand and employee value proposition to attract strong talent.
  • Make sure recruitment processes follow company policies and relevant employment law.
  • Work toward agreed recruitment measures such as time-to-fill, direct sourcing, and candidate quality.
  • Look for ways to improve recruitment processes and reduce dependence on agencies.

Skills and experience required

  • Previous recruitment experience, either in-house or within an agency.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple vacancies in a busy environment.
  • Experience recruiting within operational, engineering, facilities management, construction, industrial, logistics, security, cleaning, or similar sectors.
  • Ability to source candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, social media, and direct search methods.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience building talent pipelines and keeping candidates engaged.
  • Excellent organisation skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Confidence using applicant tracking systems, ideally Workable, along with recruitment platforms and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Self-driven approach with the ability to prioritise work and meet hiring goals.
  • Desirable: experience in Facilities Management, Building Services, Engineering, Security, or Cleaning recruitment.
  • Desirable: experience supporting high-volume hiring campaigns.
  • Desirable: knowledge of engineering or technical recruitment markets.
