Role overview
Manukau Institute of Technology is hiring a part-time, permanent Quality Advisor position at 0.7 FTE in Auckland. Reporting to the Academic Quality Leader and based in the Academic Centre, this role is suited to someone with strong quality management experience who wants to help improve outcomes in a meaningful way.
The position is focused on building and strengthening quality systems, including policies, processes, and continuous improvement practices. You will help the organisation meet both internal and external quality standards through structured, evidence-led work, while contributing to greater consistency, efficiency, and high-performing quality outcomes across MIT and Unitec.
What you'll be doing
- Support the development and embedding of quality frameworks, policies, and processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities and quality uplift across the organisation.
- Help ensure internal and external quality expectations are met through evidence-based practice.
- Work with key stakeholders to improve consistency and efficiency in quality outcomes.
- Report to the Academic Quality Leader and operate within the Academic Centre.

The ideal candidate will bring a relevant academic or industry qualification, alongside a strong background in quality assurance at a senior level. Experience managing quality or assurance functions in a large, complex organisation is important, as is the ability to build productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
You should also have strong analytical ability, a history of delivering practical solutions, and the confidence to stay calm and effective under pressure. The role calls for solid leadership and management capability, including a record of meeting or exceeding performance goals. Experience leading a team, unit, or organisation through complex change that delivered significant performance improvement will be highly valued.
