Role overview
The Project Manager will act as the primary liaison for the EPMU CAS Section and the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). This role requires strong command of English in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
Core duties
- Be the main contact for the EPMU CAS Section and the COR, and ensure a named alternate is able to handle contract-related matters when the primary contact is unavailable.
- Use knowledge of the federal acquisition process to support all assigned program management work.
- Work across the full federal acquisition lifecycle, from identifying the initial need through to contract, program, and project closeout.
- Apply solid program and project management practices in a federal government setting, backed by FAC-P/PM certification or experience with major systems acquisitions.
- Review, apply, and develop procedures, rules, policies, regulations, and guidance related to acquisition and program/project management.
- Operate MS Excel and other tracking or database tools at an advanced level to manage reporting and monitoring requirements.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience supporting program management functions.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Working knowledge of federal acquisition processes.
- Clear understanding of the federal acquisition lifecycle, from need identification through contract and project completion.
- Strong reporting and computer skills, including advanced use of MS Excel and related database/project tracking tools.
- Ability to interpret, apply, and draft acquisition as well as program/project management procedures, rules, policies, regulations, and guides.
- Strong grasp of federal program and project management, shown through FAC-P/PM certification or experience with major systems acquisitions.
Preferred qualifications
- Background in contracting management.
- Comfort using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with senior federal stakeholders.
- Ability to read government policies, regulations, and directives and translate them into action for all PWS activities.
- CPCM certification.
