Role overview

The company is looking for a Project Engineer (m/w/d) to support its rechargeable solutions business. The position is based in Marsberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, with a hybrid setup that includes weekly presence at the development center in Marsberg. The role is available as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Own one or more manufacturing areas from the concept stage through SOP, using the H&T PPDP framework.
• Coordinate subject matter experts in process development and manage dependencies and interfaces between workstreams.
• Handle supplier communication, technical clarifications, inquiries, schedules, FAT/SAT activities, commissioning, and final acceptance.
• Align technical delivery with Program Management on scope, milestones, and change control.
• Build and maintain integrated plans, risk logs, and resource requirements for the assigned areas.
• Drive trials, validations, run-at-rate activities, and production readiness, ensuring a structured handover to manufacturing.
• Manage technical changes and related documentation while ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
• Provide status updates to Global Engineering leadership and stakeholders, and escalate risks together with actionable mitigation plans.
• Capture lessons learned and promote standardization across sites and programs.
• Travel as needed for supplier visits, commissioning, FAT/SAT, and acceptance activities, with additional travel to customers and plants when required.

What the employer is looking for

• A completed degree in mechanical engineering, production engineering, industrial engineering, mechatronics, or a similar field.
• At least 3 to 5+ years of experience in project engineering involving multidisciplinary work packages in serial production.
• Proven ability to coordinate specialist functions and suppliers from concept through commissioning.
• Familiarity with APQP/PPAP and quality tools, plus experience with stage-gate processes; PPDP experience is an advantage and can also be learned.
• Strong planning, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Very good English skills; German is desirable.

Additional information

This position requires willingness to travel for supplier meetings, commissioning, FAT/SAT, and acceptance, with further travel to customers and factories as needed.
