Role overview
This evening-shift position is responsible for taking full ownership of production activity during the shift and serving as the main contact for production, quality, health and safety, and facilities matters. The role includes coordinating daily work, managing priorities, and keeping operations running smoothly across the team.
What you will do
- Lead the evening shift and act as the primary contact for production, quality, H&S, and facility-related issues.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor day-to-day work allocation within the team.
- Supervise staff to ensure manufactured products are produced efficiently and workflow stays on track.
- Keep management and support teams updated on schedule progress, changing priorities, and any operational problems.
- Handle employee and team-related queries and issues in line with company policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain a strong, motivated, and high-performing production team.
- Confirm that all team members complete the required training and keep training records accurate and up to date.
- Promote cross-training across production areas to improve flexibility and ensure adequate skills coverage.
- Support the development of direct reports through training, regular performance evaluation, feedback, disciplinary action where needed, and formal written reviews.
Required experience and qualifications
- A Level 7 qualification in a relevant field.
- 4 to 5 years of experience in production supervision.
- Proven ability to lead teams effectively with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
- Confidence in managing people, including performance review meetings and disciplinary discussions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with people at all levels.
- Experience in electronics or cable assembly is highly desirable.
