Pricing Desk Manager

Role overview

Farmlands Co-operative Society Limited is hiring a Pricing Desk Manager in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand. In this role, you will oversee the full pricing and quotation workflow, making sure requests are handled quickly, accurately, and in a way that supports strong commercial outcomes, sales performance, and margin improvement. You will connect sales, category, and vendor stakeholders while improving governance, efficiency, and the way pricing is managed across the team.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full quote journey from intake to completion, making sure requests are checked, prioritised, and turned around within agreed deadlines.
• Create and use pricing approaches based on customer information, margin review, and commercial benchmarks to guide decisions.
• Run the pricing desk’s workflow and reporting, keeping clear visibility of quote volumes, service levels, and delivery results.
• Work with category teams and suppliers to negotiate pricing, improve commercial terms, and strengthen value outcomes.
• Support ongoing improvement by introducing data-driven and AI-supported pricing methods across the function.

About you

• You bring experience in pricing, commercial, or sales operations work, ideally in rural sales or another complex, high-volume setting.
• You are confident using data and have strong analytical ability, including advanced Excel skills and comfort with pricing models.
• You are highly organised, able to manage workflows, prioritise tasks, and stay on top of deadlines.
• You can build effective working relationships across several stakeholder groups, including sales teams and suppliers.
• You take a commercially aware, detail-oriented, and solution-focused approach, with a clear drive to improve how things are done.
