PLM Specialist

Role Overview

LOD Autonomous is looking for a PLM Specialist to take ownership of product lifecycle management processes and the supporting digital systems used across engineering and related functions. This role focuses on setting up reliable configuration control, ensuring product data remains accurate and traceable, and helping teams work effectively with PLM tools in a complex engineering environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Set the framework for PLM processes, covering configuration control, change handling, release management, and rules for managing data throughout the product lifecycle.
• Build and maintain product structures such as EBOMs, zones, configuration item definitions, and revision/version control approaches.
• Design, deploy, and sustain PLM workflows, including review and approval steps for engineering information.
• Configure and manage the PLM platform, including data structures, workflows, access permissions, and system parameters, with tools such as Teamcenter.
• Serve as the main contact point between engineering, IT, quality, configuration, production, and outside vendors or partners for PLM implementation and support.
• Connect PLM systems with enterprise tools such as CAD platforms like Siemens NX, ERP systems, and other engineering applications.
• Maintain consistency, integrity, and traceability of product data across all stages of the lifecycle.
• Define and apply naming rules, numbering standards, and data governance practices for engineering and product records.
• Guide engineering teams on effective PLM usage and provide training and day-to-day user support.
• Track system health, investigate issues, and work with internal stakeholders and external service providers to resolve problems.
• Drive ongoing improvements in PLM workflows, platform usage, and digital engineering capability.
• Support audits and help ensure adherence to internal procedures as well as regulatory expectations tied to product data and configuration management.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for PLM processes, system settings, and user instructions.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline is required; an advanced degree is an added advantage.
• At least 7 years of experience in PLM, configuration management, or engineering data management within aerospace or similarly complex engineering settings.
• Practical, hands-on exposure to PLM platforms such as Teamcenter, including administration and configuration work.
• Strong knowledge of configuration management concepts, EBOM structures, and engineering change workflows.
• Experience linking PLM with CAD tools, including Siemens NX.
• Ability to turn engineering and business requirements into workable system and process solutions.
• Strong communication skills, stakeholder coordination ability, and a structured approach to problem-solving.
• Previous work with external vendors or systems integrators is considered a plus.
• Familiarity with aerospace standards and regulatory requirements related to configuration and data control is preferred.
