About Us

Hato Hone St John has been a cornerstone of New Zealand society since 1885, with a dedicated team of 11,000 kaimahi and volunteers working across Aotearoa to improve community health and wellbeing. Our work ranges from responding to emergency calls to providing health education and monitoring, making a significant impact daily.

About the Role

We are seeking a non-clinical Operations Resource Assistant (ORA) for our Canterbury Emergency Ambulance Service's cutting-edge Christchurch Make Ready Hub. This is a 1-year fixed-term, part-time position (31.5 hours per week) operating on a 4-on 4-off roster. As an essential worker, you will play a crucial role in preparing Hato Hone St John vehicles for operational readiness, directly supporting our front-line emergency services.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, a willingness to learn about infection control and biohazard management, and a full driver's license. While knowledge of vehicle maintenance and a First Aid Certificate are advantageous, they are not essential. You must also demonstrate behaviors that align with Hato Hone St John's core values: Do the right thing (Mahi Tika), Side by Side (Tū Tahi), Straight Up (Mahi Pono), Make it better (Whakapai Ake), and Open Minds (Whakaaro Nui).

Additional Information

Hato Hone St John is committed to diversity and inclusion, welcoming all individuals to bring their authentic selves to work. We value diverse perspectives to better serve our communities and are dedicated to creating a workplace where everyone feels they belong. If you require accessibility accommodations during the recruitment process, please contact the listed recruiter. We encourage applications even if your experience doesn't perfectly match the description; if you're excited about the role, we want to hear from you!
