Role Overview
An established nursery in Hammersmith is looking for an experienced Nursery Manager to join a welcoming and supportive team. This is a strong opportunity for a qualified Early Years professional who wants to advance their childcare career while helping deliver high-quality care and education.
The nursery is conveniently placed near Hammersmith and Goldhawk Road stations and features spacious, bright learning areas, strong outdoor facilities, and a caring setting where children can learn, explore, and develop confidently.
What the Position Involves
As Nursery Manager, you will help create a safe, stimulating, and engaging environment for children while guiding and supporting team members to deliver excellent Early Years practice. You will set the tone by leading through example and maintaining high standards in care, education, and safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and day-to-day inspiration for the nursery room team
- Design learning activities that encourage children’s growth and engagement
- Support children’s physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development
- Help deliver the EYFS framework effectively in practice
- Keep accurate observations, records, and learning journals up to date
- Encourage a strong key-person approach and the formation of secure attachments
- Track children’s progress and support personalised learning plans
- Ensure safeguarding, health, and safety requirements are consistently followed
- Work closely with parents and carers through clear communication and partnership
- Identify training and development needs for team members
Requirements
- A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
- At least 1 year of experience in an Early Years setting
- Good understanding of the EYFS framework and legal/statutory requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A genuine commitment to excellent childcare and education
- The ability to lead positively and support colleagues well
- Previous experience in a senior or supervisory Early Years position is desirable
- Knowledge of Ofsted expectations and inspection standards is desirable
- Experience mentoring staff and supporting team development is desirable

Working Pattern
This is a full-time, all-year-round role with 40 hours per week. Working days are Monday to Friday, with shifts scheduled between 7:30am and 6:30pm.

This position is not term-time only.
