Role overview

The Night Audit role combines overnight front desk service with end-of-day accounting work. The position supports guests during late hours, manages arrivals and departures, and handles guest service requests while also reviewing, reconciling, and balancing the day’s financial records.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests arriving at night, answer calls, and handle reservation requests.
  • Support guests with complaints, urgent situations, and other service needs.
  • Process bills, record payments to vendors, and distribute employee checks.
  • Reconcile financial accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Count and balance cash, then record receipts accurately.
  • Track down and fix accounts that do not balance.
  • Maintain precise ledgers and other financial documentation.
  • Assist with forecast preparation and audit-related tasks.
  • Work with other departments to keep operations running smoothly and ensure a strong guest experience.
  • Respond to guest issues in a timely, courteous, and professional way.
  • Follow hotel rules, procedures, legal obligations, and safety standards.
  • Keep the front desk area tidy and well organized.
