Role overview
A leading Oil & Gas organization in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support its operations in Al Khobar, Eastern Province. The role focuses on improving manufacturing performance, strengthening process reliability, and supporting product introduction and quality initiatives across the shop floor.
Key responsibilities
- Apply practical knowledge of change actions, new product introduction, sales order review, process mapping, manufacturing bill of materials updates, routings, fixtures, quality notifications/rework handling, and troubleshooting.
- Use Lean Six Sigma methods to set up and sustain efficient manufacturing practices, including standardized work, balanced lines, optimized layouts and routings, training matrices, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen and 5S activities, pull systems, TPM, cell design, and quicker changeover or batch-size reduction.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- Improve process performance by targeting yield, first-pass success, rolled throughput yield, shorter cycle times, and higher productivity.
- Support machining activities by contributing to make-or-buy decisions, tooling selection, fixture design, and feedback to programmers to improve machining efficiency and reduce cycle time.
- Share shop-floor feedback with Engineering and DFMs on design for manufacturability concerns, including raising Engineering Change Requests when needed.
- Review and approve Engineering Change Orders that affect inventory, including issues related to product lifecycle management and obsolescence.
- Develop, implement, and track key performance indicators and metrics related to process capability and product quality.
- Work to reduce process costs while maintaining operational effectiveness.
- Handle quality, risk assessment, and first article support activities.
- Ensure manufacturing technology solutions meet required standards for quality, reliability, and consistency.
- Assist with investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for manufacturing quality problems.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of manufacturing engineering fundamentals, with hands-on exposure to engineering drawings.
- Practical experience in change actions, process mapping, BOM updates, routings, fixtures, troubleshooting, and related manufacturing processes.
- Experience with oil & gas manufacturing tools and processes is preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, supported by certification and project experience.
- Familiarity with SAP and demand planning.
- At least 2 years of experience working with machining centers.
- Basic knowledge of tooling and programming.
- Understanding of production workflows.
- Experience in non-conformance management.
- Exposure to technical investigations.
- Knowledge of production test and assembly processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience, including engineering drawing work, is required.
