Role overview
The Maintenance Excellence Manager is a part-time, on-site position in Dubai focused on strengthening maintenance standards across facilities and technical equipment. The role is centered on improving reliability, performance, and uptime through disciplined planning, scheduling, and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance work.
Key accountabilities
- Lead day-to-day maintenance operations to keep equipment and assets performing at their best.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Track maintenance KPIs, investigate repeat failures and breakdown patterns, and drive actions that reduce downtime.
- Work with internal teams and outside service providers to ensure maintenance tasks are completed effectively.
- Oversee maintenance staff or contractors where applicable.
- Ensure maintenance work aligns with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Build and refine maintenance procedures, training resources, and documentation to support reliability-focused operations.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across maintenance processes.
Requirements
- Strong leadership and coordination experience in maintenance, including supervisory and maintenance management capability.
- Hands-on knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair across mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical systems.
- Proven ability to design, run, and improve preventive maintenance programs.
- Working understanding of maintenance planning, work-order management, KPI tracking, and reporting.
- Awareness of safety practices, risk assessment, and compliance standards in technical or industrial settings.
- Good analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and sound decision-making with a continuous improvement approach.
- Clear communication and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- A technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, maintenance, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent practical experience is also acceptable.
- Experience in financial services, payment systems, or technology-led environments is an added advantage.
- Must be able to work on-site in Dubai on a part-time basis and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
