Job Description: Maintenance Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at the Optical Fiber Cable Manufacturing Plant in Urse, Talegaon, Pune. This role is crucial for ensuring the seamless operation and upkeep of machinery and essential utilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing robust preventive maintenance strategies, efficiently managing breakdowns, enhancing equipment reliability, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance tasks for plant machinery and utilities.
- Diagnose and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Maximize machine operational time and ensure uninterrupted production flow.
- Oversee the maintenance of critical utilities including compressors, chillers, DG sets, and HVAC systems.
- Conduct thorough root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, including logs, checklists, and detailed equipment history.
- Collaborate closely with production teams to minimize operational downtime and boost equipment performance.
- Provide support for the installation, commissioning, and modification of new and existing machinery.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and relevant statutory regulations.
- Manage and monitor the inventory of spare parts and necessary maintenance consumables.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance.
- Understanding of PLC, VFD, Motors, and basic Industrial Automation principles.
- Experience in Preventive Maintenance Planning.
- Skills in Breakdown Analysis and Troubleshooting.
- Competence in Utility Maintenance.
- Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Familiarity with MS Excel for Maintenance Documentation.
Preferred Industry Experience
Experience in Optical Fiber Cable, Telecom Cable, Wire & Cable Manufacturing, Extrusion, Polymer Processing, Automotive, or other Continuous Process Industries is highly desirable.
