Role Overview
Jagadguru Kripalu University is seeking a Library Assistant to support academic library operations in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. The role suits candidates with formal library science education and hands-on exposure to university, research, or academic library environments.
Essential Qualification
Applicants should hold either a Bachelor of Library & Information Science (B.Lib.I.Sc.) or a Master of Library & Information Science (M.Lib.I.Sc.) from a recognized university.
Desirable Qualifications and Technical Knowledge
A postgraduate degree in Library & Information Science is preferred. Candidates should also be familiar with library automation platforms, digital library systems, e-resource handling, institutional repositories, library ERP tools, MS Office, and general computer applications.
Additional Preference
Faculty members from Humanities or other disciplines who also possess library science qualifications and relevant library experience may also be considered.
Experience Preference
Prior experience of 1 to 3 years in an academic, research, or university library is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will assist with circulation and cataloguing, manage digital resources, support users, handle library automation and documentation work, and contribute to library-related tasks linked to accreditation.
General Information
Compensation and benefits will follow the 6th pay structure and DA as per university norms, and will also reflect the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and achievements. Candidates with familiarity with NEP 2020 implementation, accreditation processes such as NAAC/NBA, NIRF, innovation ecosystems, and institutional development will be given preference. The university reserves the right to appoint or not appoint for the position without providing a reason.
