About the Organisation
Star Alliance is the largest airline alliance in the world. Its purpose is to become the preferred global alliance for high-value international travellers, while helping member airlines improve long-term profitability beyond what they can achieve alone.
The Singapore office oversees the alliance’s worldwide activities, including the coordination of joint initiatives for its 26 member airlines.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Senior Director, Delivery Excellence within the Digital and Technology business unit, this position supports Star Alliance member airlines with expertise across project management, IT solutions, IT architecture, IT operations and IT security.
This is a prominent role focused on ensuring successful delivery of Star Alliance initiatives in close collaboration with Product Owners and IT Solutions Leads. The role will mainly support the Customer Experience business unit, which creates and implements digital and self-service solutions to make travel smoother and more efficient across key passenger journey stages such as booking, airport and transfer, and loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide diverse project teams spread across different locations and cultures, building alignment so projects are delivered successfully.
- Prepare detailed project plans with schedule and budget baselines based on scope and risk.
- Use the organisation’s project management methodology to produce high-quality outputs across all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Review project progress, identify gaps or issues, and take corrective action to keep timelines and scope on track.
- Communicate plans, progress and status clearly to all relevant stakeholders.
- Work closely with Product Owners and IT Solutions Leads to define project goals, plans and deliverables.
- Manage the coordination of deliverables and timelines across global member airlines and external vendors.
- Lead project meetings, workshops and other stakeholder forums to support decision-making and alignment.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant brings 3 to 4 years of project management experience, along with a strong track record of delivering results. Exposure to airline IT environments is useful, though not essential. Experience in IT systems development, especially airline systems development, is preferred.
A PMP certification or another recognised project management qualification is preferred, or equivalent hands-on project management experience will also be considered. Experience working with agile project management approaches is important.
The role suits someone who can manage multiple priorities, adapt quickly when priorities shift, and consistently follow through on assigned tasks. The person should be proactive, self-driven, skilled in facilitation and consensus building, and able to demonstrate leadership through goal achievement.
Because the job involves working across cultures, strong relationship-building and interpersonal abilities are important, along with excellent organisational and analytical capabilities. A high level of English fluency is required, as English is the only language used with member airlines and external stakeholders.
What We Offer
- A permanent, full-time role based in the Singapore office.
- Competitive pay with variable compensation.
- Medical and dental coverage.
- Flight benefits.
