Role overview
The Key Account Manager for Computing is a commercial leadership role centered on expanding revenue, market share, and overall category performance for Jumia’s hardware and technology assortment, including laptops, desktops, and accessories. The position serves as the main commercial contact for major global brands, distributors, and vendors, with responsibility for strengthening partnerships, improving pricing and availability, and keeping Jumia top-of-mind for computing shoppers.
What you will do
- Oversee major vendor and account relationships in the Computing category and develop long-term commercial partnerships.
- Build and execute category growth plans aimed at increasing sales volume, revenue, and market share.
- Partner with sales and marketing teams to deliver promotional initiatives such as Tech Week and Black Friday campaigns for computing shoppers.
- Review sales performance, inventory movement, and market developments to uncover growth opportunities, assortment gaps, and pricing advantages.
- Track and report key metrics such as GMV, stock health, inventory levels, and vendor fulfillment performance.
- Lead commercial discussions to win exclusive launches, competitive pricing, and stronger margin outcomes from vendors.
- Support strategic computing partners by helping remove operational obstacles and monitoring their performance on the platform.
- Keep current on hardware launches, local and global technology trends, competitor activity, and changing customer preferences.
- Coordinate with operations, logistics, and content teams to ensure smooth inbound planning, healthy stock levels, and accurate product listings.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or another relevant discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in commercial, account management, e-commerce, tech retail, or consumer electronics roles.
- Strong knowledge of the Computing category, including hardware specifications, brand positioning, and market behavior.
- Well-developed negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills for working with major technology brands.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with confidence using Excel and other data tools to monitor stock, sales, and trends.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to turn plans into measurable category growth.
- A self-driven, adaptable approach that works well in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment and supports multitasking and prioritization.
