Linklaters Asia is looking for an Information & Research Advisor in Singapore to support the firm’s practice and business teams with high-quality information services. The position sits within the global information function and is focused on turning internal knowledge and external sources into practical value for the business.

The role covers legal research as well as commercial, sector and client-focused research, with a strong emphasis on business development support. The successful person will help maintain current awareness services, promote research tools, and contribute to the continuous improvement of information services across the firm.

  • Locating, analysing, summarising and presenting information on clients, markets, industries and sectors.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver timely, practical and cost-effective information support for legal and business research needs across the office, practice groups and wider firm.
  • Work with the Head of Information & Research, Asia and/or the relevant leadership contact to ensure service improvements align with the team’s strategy.
  • Champion the Information & Research offering within the practice and office community.
  • Participate in global information networks to exchange best practices and follow agreed information management policies.
  • Act as a contact point for research questions from fee earners and business teams.
  • Guide users to intranet pages, online databases, books, journals, looseleafs and other reference materials via the library catalogue and other sources.
  • Use internal and external resources to respond to legal and business information requests.
  • Log enquiries in the enquiry management system to support consistency and knowledge sharing.
  • Manage collection activities and procurement for books, journals, materials and online services using the global catalogue.
  • Support joiner and leaver administration, including distribution lists and collection of materials.
  • Assist with budget preparation and ongoing expenditure tracking for the information unit and practice groups.
  • Promote available services to encourage effective use of both new and existing resources.
  • Track developments in relevant practices, sectors and jurisdictions to keep users informed.
  • Help deliver tailored legal and business news through Newsdesk and other current awareness tools.
  • Surface relevant items for wider Information & Research team discussions.
  • Contribute to onboarding and ongoing training for new joiners and other users on information systems and services.
  • Train fee earners and other stakeholders on how to use information tools and research resources effectively.
  • Share research guidance and techniques with the immediate team and wider network.
  • Build subject and technical expertise in business and legal research.
  • Represent and promote the Information & Research team through participation in local practice and office meetings.
  • Support learning and development activities for the local and global Information & Research community.
  • Exchange knowledge and best practices with colleagues across locations.
  • Network with other information professionals and represent the firm at suitable events.
  • Provide feedback to other members of the Information & Research service team where appropriate, including as part of performance management.
