Role Summary

The HR Talent Advisor, Employee Experience acts as a trusted HR partner for employees across multiple agencies in the Toronto office. Reporting to the Talent Director, Employee Experience, this person provides guidance across the full employee journey, helps apply workplace policies consistently, reduces organizational exposure, and supports initiatives that strengthen culture and engagement.

Employee Relations and Advisory Support

  • Act as the main advisor for managers and employees dealing with sensitive workplace issues, conflict handling, and performance concerns.
  • Manage complex leave situations such as maternity, STD, and LTD, while ensuring legal compliance, a supportive experience, and smooth reintegration back to work.
  • Support new hires through onboarding and orientation so they receive a strong first impression and an effective start.
  • Handle resignations and exits, including severance estimates, termination documentation, and coordination with legal partners when necessary.
  • Explain and apply company policies and Ontario employment standards fairly across different business groups.

Talent Development and Performance Management

  • Coordinate the annual performance review cycle with the Talent Director.
  • Coach managers on delivering feedback, conducting reviews, and managing performance improvement plans effectively.
  • Support engagement and culture programs using employee feedback, surveys, and data to help strengthen performance and retention.

Projects and Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner on national and regional talent projects and help scale HR best practices across offices in Quebec, Toronto, and Vancouver.
  • Respond to questions received through the HR shared inbox.
  • Assist with audits and documentation upkeep.
  • Work with center-of-excellence teams to support client group needs.
  • Provide backup support to teammates when needed.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, along with at least 3 years of progressive HR experience. Experience at an advisor level, or moving into that level, is considered an asset. Strong knowledge of Ontario employment standards, human rights law, and health and safety requirements is important, along with the ability to coach stakeholders, interpret data, and communicate HR insights clearly.
