About the Role
This position sits within the housekeeping and laundry function at W Hotels in Vagator Beach, Bardez, Goa. The role is focused on maintaining room and public-area quality standards, supporting day-to-day housekeeping operations, and coordinating closely with related departments to keep guest rooms and shared spaces ready on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Check cleaned guest rooms, public areas, pool areas, and other spaces to confirm they meet the required standards.
- Review sold-room reports, confirm room status, identify rooms with discrepancies, and prioritize cleaning work for departing guests.
- Support housekeeping leadership with the coordination of daily operational tasks.
- Serve as a communication link between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry teams.
- Record, track, and help resolve room-status issues with the Front Desk.
- Prepare room assignment updates and ensure they are shared with the relevant teams.
- Pass along important updates to the next shift and complete the required documentation.
- Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, counseling, disciplining, and motivating team members.
- Follow company safety, security, and operational procedures, and report maintenance concerns, hazards, accidents, or injuries.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and protect confidential and company information.
- Welcome guests according to service standards, respond to their needs, support guests with disabilities, and show genuine appreciation.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, and build positive working relationships with colleagues.
- Maintain quality standards in all assigned tasks.
- Handle physical duties such as lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, reaching, standing, kneeling, and walking for long periods.
- Use computers and/or point-of-sale systems to enter and locate work-related information.
- Read and verify information in different formats, including small print.
- Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience is required.
- No license or certification is needed for this role.
- Ability to work with housekeeping carts and equipment across uneven or sloped surfaces.
- Capability to move, lift, carry, and place items weighing up to 55 pounds alone and more than 55 pounds with assistance.
- Comfortable working an entire shift while standing, sitting, kneeling, or walking as needed.
- Ability to handle fine-motor tasks and coordinate hand-eye movements while manipulating objects of different sizes and weights.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to service quality, confidentiality, and workplace safety.
