Role overview

The Head of Investor Relations will lead the planning, execution, and ongoing management of investor relations for Dangote Group and each of its listed subsidiaries. The role is also accountable for ensuring that investors and broader finance-market stakeholders receive clear, regular, and consistent updates on the company’s strategy, performance, and objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Shape the Group’s investor relations strategy and operating framework.
  • Prepare and publish investor-facing materials, including the annual report, SEC submissions, quarterly earnings updates, financial press releases, fact sheets, and presentation decks.
  • Keep a comprehensive and current record of institutional investors and analysts covering the Group.
  • Gather, assess, and interpret investor and analyst feedback about the Group and its subsidiaries.
  • Compile and circulate regular internal investor relations and marketing updates for executive leadership and the board across the Group and subsidiaries.
  • Handle daily and quarterly investor questions promptly and professionally, while maintaining strong external stakeholder engagement.
  • Work closely with Financial Reporting, Legal, and Communications teams to ensure information is accurate, aligned, and consistent.
  • Build communication plans for corporate and financial announcements, as well as major events.
  • Manage communications for matters that may influence the reputation of the Group or its subsidiaries.
  • Plan and execute investor-facing events such as one-on-one meetings, analyst conferences, roadshows, AGMs, and investor days.
  • Draft announcements, conference call scripts, Q&A documents, presentation scripts, and related materials for the President, Group Managing Director, and other executives as needed.
  • Track updates in regulatory and statutory requirements affecting financial markets and listed securities.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, monitor industry benchmarks, and evaluate business performance to support investor communications.
  • Build strong relationships within the investment community to strengthen brand visibility and network reach.
  • Manage investor expectations by aligning market perception with the Group’s actual business performance.
  • Act as the main contact for investor-related external stakeholders and cultivate strong ties with analysts and investors.
  • Represent Dangote Group at major industry conferences and external events.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience, including 3 or more years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience leading an investor relations function in a fast-growing technology environment and delivering proactive IR strategies that handled complex issues effectively.
  • Strong understanding of how customer needs, customer insights, business opportunities, and business challenges affect IR strategy in the consumer internet space.
  • Ability to establish an internal IR center of excellence that serves as a knowledge base for key long-term company questions.
  • Experience working successfully with the board and collaborating across leadership teams to improve reporting quality and business outcomes.
  • Excellent presentation, speaking, and writing skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with senior executives and external partners.
  • Strong storytelling ability and the capacity to engage investors with a message that supports the company’s mission.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, concepts, techniques, and disclosure practices used in annual financial statements.
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian stock exchange rules, global equity capital markets, and industry performance metrics.
