Role Overview

Lyra Health is hiring a Global Controller to act as a senior finance executive responsible for the accuracy of financial statements, the strength of internal controls, and the leadership of global accounting and compliance functions. Reporting to the CFO, this person will oversee the company’s worldwide controllership, reporting, and compliance operations.

Key Responsibilities

This role covers financial reporting, technical accounting, compliance, internal control design, audit coordination, and finance transformation across a multinational environment. The Global Controller will also partner with executive leadership to support strategic decisions and lead a distributed team across accounting, tax, and treasury.

Financial Reporting and Accounting Leadership

  • Own the preparation of consolidated global financial statements, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and compliant with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Act as the top authority on complex accounting policies and ensure they are applied consistently across international entities.
  • Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles to keep reporting efficient and disciplined.
  • Oversee external financial reporting activities, including SEC filings such as 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K where relevant.

Compliance, Risk, and Internal Controls

  • Build and maintain a strong global internal control structure that safeguards company assets and supports data integrity, with particular attention to SOX compliance.
  • Serve as the main contact for external auditors, internal audit teams, and regulatory authorities, and manage global audit activity end to end.
  • Identify and reduce accounting, treasury, and foreign exchange risks before they become issues.

Executive Partnership and Team Development

  • Work closely with the CFO, CEO, and other senior leaders to provide financial analysis and guidance for company-wide strategy and growth.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing global controllership organization spanning accounting, tax, and treasury.
  • Lead finance transformation projects, including selecting, implementing, and improving ERP and accounting systems.
  • Look for opportunities to scale the business through AI and other technology-enabled improvements.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
  • A CPA or an equivalent professional certification is required.
  • An MBA or a master’s degree in Accounting is strongly preferred.
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting is needed, including 7 or more years in a senior leadership role such as VP, SVP, or CAO.
  • Experience should include oversight of global accounting operations for a multinational, publicly traded company.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, SEC reporting, and SOX-compliant control frameworks is essential.
  • The ideal candidate will bring strong executive presence, clear communication skills, and experience leading large teams spread across multiple geographies.
