About Justice Initiative Foundation

Founded in 2020, the Justice Initiative (TJI) is driven by the belief that every individual deserves dignity, care, and a real chance to rebuild. The organisation partners with life convicts in Karnataka’s Central Prisons to create opportunities for healing, self-expression, and recovery through mental health support, creative programmes, and rehabilitation initiatives. After release, TJI continues to support reintegration through the Collective, a peer community built around belonging, encouragement, and hope. Through relationships, storytelling, and compassion, TJI supports men and women as they rebuild their lives and reconnect with their families and communities.

Role Overview

The Fundraiser will be responsible for building and executing the organisation’s fundraising approach, expanding donor networks, managing partnerships, and supporting grant and CSR efforts. The role requires strong relationship-building, proposal writing, campaign planning, and cross-functional coordination to help secure sustainable funding for the foundation’s mission.

Fundraising Strategy and Planning

• Create and refine a fundraising strategy and portfolio for the Justice Initiative.
• Develop an annual fundraising roadmap and drive its execution.
• Spot new funding channels that match the organisation’s objectives.
• Segment donors, define target groups, and shape campaign plans accordingly.
• Establish fundraising goals and track performance using data and metrics.

Donor Acquisition and Relationship Management

• Develop and nurture relationships with individual donors, CSR teams, institutional funders, and high-net-worth individuals.
• Design donor engagement plans, regular touchpoints, and stewardship activities.
• Prepare proposals, concept notes, and presentations for potential supporters.

Grant Management

• Research grant opportunities at local and national levels.
• Own the full proposal lifecycle, including needs assessment, proposal drafting, budgeting, and submission.
• Oversee timely reporting and compliance for grants awarded.

Corporate Partnerships and CSR

• Reach out to corporates for CSR support and long-term collaborations.
• Lead meetings and presentations to communicate programme value and impact.
• Negotiate partnership terms while ensuring CSR alignment.

Campaigns and Events

• Plan and deliver fundraising events, digital drives, and community campaigns.
• Work closely with communications teams to develop engaging content.
• Use social media, email marketing, and online fundraising tools to support campaigns.

Data and Documentation

• Keep the donor database current and record all interactions accurately.
• Build fundraising dashboards, MIS reports, and financial tracking documents.
• Maintain proper records, donor acknowledgements, and support audit requirements.

Team Collaboration and Leadership

• Partner with programme teams to gather information, impact data, and success stories.
• Guide fundraising executives, interns, or volunteers, where relevant.
• Train internal teams on fundraising methods and donor communication practices.
