Role Overview
This full-time, non-management position is with Marriott International in the Food and Beverage & Culinary function at a property in New Delhi, India. The role is based onsite and is focused on delivering smooth dining operations, strong guest service, and team coordination in a hospitality setting.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Make sure the team works in sync so service runs efficiently and guest expectations are consistently met.
- Check employees’ grooming and uniforms, and correct any issues related to presentation.
- Handle opening and closing tasks, including arranging supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and work areas, and securing doors.
- Review storage areas for orderliness, cleanliness, and proper stock rotation using FIFO practices.
- Carry out routine inventory checks and raise requisitions for needed supplies.
- Track dining area conditions, including seating readiness, guest safety, and overall well-being of patrons.
- Log and follow up on maintenance work orders and repair needs.
- Support managers with hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees.
- Act as a role model and the first contact point for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
- Follow all company, safety, and security procedures, including reporting incidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
- Complete required safety training and certifications as assigned.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and protect confidential company information and assets.
- Welcome guests courteously, anticipate service needs, assist guests with disabilities, and interact with genuine appreciation.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers and maintain positive working relationships.
- Support teamwork, shared goals, and constructive responses to employee concerns.
- Uphold quality standards and suggest improvements that can raise efficiency, productivity, safety, quality, or cost effectiveness.
- Read and verify information in different formats and inspect tools, equipment, or machines for defects.
- Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and using stairs or ramps.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
Applicants should have completed high school or an equivalent GED. The role calls for at least 2 years of relevant work experience and a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory capacity. No license or certification is required.
