Role overview

Stowe Australia is inviting experienced Fibre Technicians to express interest in a full-time role supporting project work across Melbourne, Adelaide, and the Northern Territory. The position is engaged through the Melbourne office, with travel to job sites as needed. Travel expenses and accommodation or other living-away-from-home costs are paid by the company. Work is generally organised on a three-week rotation.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform fibre optic splicing and jointing tasks.
  • Assemble connectors and complete fibre terminations, including polishing and finishing the end face.
  • Test fibre networks and diagnose faults.
  • Prepare fibre and manage cable handling activities.
  • Carry out cable hauling over extended distances.
  • Maintain strong standards of workmanship, safety, and quality on site.
  • Adapt to a variety of project settings, including remote work locations.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors, project teams, and clients.

Preferred experience and qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in fibre splicing.
  • Capability in connector assembly and fibre termination work.
