Role Overview
This leadership position is accountable for steering the day-to-day and long-range operations of the technology organization. The role connects strategic technology goals with execution, making sure systems, infrastructure, development workflows, and service delivery are efficient, secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
The position acts as the key link between technology strategy and operational delivery, with responsibility for governance, digital change initiatives, and collaboration across functions to support growth and innovation.
Technology Operations Strategy and Execution
Build and roll out technology operations plans that support company-wide and technology-specific goals. Convert strategic roadmaps into practical action plans with measurable results. Lead excellence across software delivery, infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud operations, and IT support functions. Put governance structures in place to ensure technology initiatives are carried out effectively.
Program and Portfolio Oversight
Direct the planning, implementation, and completion of enterprise technology projects and programs. Manage portfolios, budgets, headcount, and priorities to deliver strong business value. Ensure initiatives are completed on schedule, within scope, and within budget. Create executive-level dashboards and reporting tools that give leaders clear visibility into technology performance.
Process Improvement and Governance
Design and standardize operating policies, procedures, and controls for technology functions. Apply proven practices across SDLC, DevOps, ITSM, Agile, and project management. Improve efficiency through automation and streamlined workflows. Maintain alignment with internal controls, governance expectations, and regulatory obligations.
Infrastructure, Cloud, and Service Delivery
Provide oversight for enterprise infrastructure, cloud environments, networks, and operational support services. Ensure high availability, reliable performance, and the ability to scale. Strengthen service delivery through monitoring, incident handling, and root-cause resolution. Lead business continuity, disaster recovery, and resilience planning.
Cybersecurity, Risk, and Compliance
Work closely with cybersecurity teams to protect systems, applications, and data. Identify operational technology risks and put mitigation measures in place. Support compliance with industry rules, security standards, and corporate governance requirements. Establish escalation and risk-management procedures for critical operations.
Data, Analytics, and Performance Management
Define and track KPIs, SLAs, and operational metrics for technology functions. Use analytics to improve efficiency and support better decision-making. Develop reporting frameworks for executive leadership. Lead continuous improvement efforts based on performance data and business requirements.
Cross-Functional Partnership
Collaborate with product, engineering, IT, finance, HR, and business leaders to keep technology operations aligned with organizational priorities. Help translate between technical and non-technical audiences. Support transformation programs and technology-enabled business expansion. Coordinate effectively across global technology teams.
Leadership and Team Development
Lead and develop a strong technology operations team. Build leadership depth through succession planning and learning programs. Encourage accountability, innovation, operational discipline, and continuous improvement. Strengthen engagement and collaboration across technology groups.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related area is required. A master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
The ideal candidate should bring at least 18 years of experience in technology operations, IT management, engineering operations, or similar areas, including 8+ years in senior leadership roles. Experience leading large-scale technology organizations, digital transformation efforts, and enterprise operations is important. A strong background in software development operations, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and technology governance is expected. Experience in multinational or fast-growing technology-driven companies is preferred.
