Role overview
Canva is hiring an Education Solutions Engineer to help improve how educational institutions connect with and use the platform at scale. The focus is on making technical onboarding and integration smoother for school districts, ministries of education, universities, and strategic education partners.
This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, support, and sales/success. You will investigate technical barriers, shape scalable solutions, and contribute to documentation, workflows, and product enhancements that strengthen Canva’s education offering.
You will also act as a trusted technical partner for customers with complex integration needs, helping with discovery, troubleshooting, solution design, and coordination with engineers for custom environments and technology stacks.
In addition, you will manage the technical side of relationships with key education technology partners and help broaden Canva’s ecosystem of authentication, rostering, and learning management integrations.
Work location and setup
The role is based in Austin, Texas, where Canva’s US operations are located. Canva supports flexibility in how and where work is done, with an emphasis on finding the right balance for both the individual and the team. Interviews are conducted virtually.
What you will do
- Resolve onboarding and integration issues for education customers worldwide, especially around SSO, authentication, rostering, provisioning, and LMS connectivity.
- Work with Product and Engineering to build scalable solutions that improve onboarding, adoption, and customer outcomes.
- Serve as the technical owner for strategic school districts, ministries of education, and universities with complex integration needs.
- Help design, test, and launch customized solutions for customers operating in unique technical environments.
- Oversee technical partnerships with education technology providers, including LMS, authentication, and rostering vendors.
- Develop documentation, operating processes, and training materials so Support and Success teams can resolve integration issues confidently.
- Convert customer needs into clear product feedback and help influence the education integration roadmap.
- Spot recurring patterns in customer requests and technical issues to drive product improvements and better operations.
What the team does
The District Engagement Advocates team manages the full lifecycle of B2B Canva deployments in K-12 institutions, from prospecting and signup through negotiation, technical integration, launch, and long-term customer success. Their work supports free Canva access for schools and districts, with a strong focus on helping educators create engaging, future-ready learning experiences for students.
Required experience and strengths
- Hands-on experience with authentication, identity management, rostering, LMS platforms, or enterprise integrations.
- Comfort working with SAML, OAuth, OIDC, SCIM, LTI, OneRoster, APIs, and enterprise provisioning systems.
- Ability to explain complex technical ideas in a practical way for non-technical audiences.
- Strong relationship-building skills across customers, partners, and internal teams.
- System-level thinking with the ability to design solutions that scale.
- Confidence moving between customer troubleshooting, engineering collaboration, and leadership presentations.
- Interest in supporting educators and students through technology.
- Willingness to work flexibly across time zones for a global customer base.
