Role Summary
As a Dispatcher, you will coordinate transportation activity while delivering strong customer support. The role sits in a busy, fast-moving setting where quick thinking and flexibility are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, organize, and dispatch customer service calls.
- Act as the central contact point for drivers, scale operators, and yard staff.
- Manage truck movements and share observations about material quality.
- Keep track of driver hours to stay aligned with provincial rules.
- Monitor and update records for inbound and outbound orders.
- Develop practical route plans around customer pickup needs.
- Follow safety requirements and ensure operational procedures are completed correctly.
Required Experience and Skills
You should bring at least 2 years of experience in fleet dispatching, along with confidence working in a demanding environment. Strong attention to detail, the ability to work on your own, and a professional customer-focused attitude are important. You should also be comfortable juggling multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
Technical knowledge should include Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Word. Familiarity with MTO rules, border-crossing processes, shipping documentation, and truck/trailer setups is also required.
