Role overview
This is a senior leadership opportunity focused on strengthening literacy instruction and improving learning outcomes for K-12 students. The position is based in the United States and is fully remote. It is posted through a hiring partner, which handles applications and all subsequent steps.
The role blends strategy, literacy subject-matter expertise, and project leadership to create and implement initiatives that help educators, school systems, and education leaders. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and outside partners to develop practical, research-backed solutions that connect educational research with classroom implementation.
In addition to leading program and strategy work, the position represents the organization in the broader education community through presentations, partnerships, publications, and other thought leadership activities. Success in the role depends on the ability to think strategically while also executing effectively, with a strong focus on equitable learning opportunities across varied educational settings.
This is a strong fit for an experienced literacy professional who is motivated by instructional quality, system-level improvement, and measurable impact in education.
Responsibilities

- Develop and sustain relationships with district leaders, education partners, and other stakeholders to advance high-impact work.
- Serve as a public-facing representative through talks, presentations, publications, and other leadership engagements.
- Support organizational planning, strategic priorities, and continuous improvement across teams.
- Based on business needs, take on people leadership, partnership development, internal initiatives, program inquiry, or strategic implementation responsibilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s or other advanced degree in Education, Curriculum, Literacy, or a related area is preferred.
- At least 3 years of classroom teaching experience in elementary or secondary literacy instruction.
- Minimum of 3 years leading district-wide, systems-level, or large-scale education initiatives.
- Strong command of evidence-based literacy instruction and a clear commitment to equitable educational access.
- Demonstrated strength in leadership, strategic planning, and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to educators, administrators, policymakers, and other stakeholders.
- Comfort working in collaborative, cross-functional, and project-based environments.
- Willingness to travel about 15% to 20% each year for meetings, conferences, and partner engagement.
Benefits
- Annual compensation is estimated at $150,000 to $180,000, depending on experience.
- Fully remote work arrangement within the United States.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- Employer-sponsored 401(k) retirement plan.
- Flexible spending account options.
- Unlimited vacation time and unlimited sick leave.
