The Opportunity
An opening is available for an energetic and dependable cleaner to join the Hornby, Christchurch team. This position suits someone who enjoys working in a busy setting, pays close attention to the finer details, and takes pride in keeping spaces clean and presentable.
This is a part-time onsite role with the following shift:
- Sunday: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
The hourly rate for this position is $24.25.
Key Duties
- Carry out general cleaning tasks to a consistently high standard.
- Clean upholstery and other furnishings as needed.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Clean toilets and washroom areas.
- Collect and dispose of rubbish.
- Clean glass surfaces on both the inside and outside.
- Dust hard surfaces thoroughly.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring previous cleaning experience, with commercial cleaning experience being an advantage. Experience in detailed cleaning is required.
You should be comfortable working well within a team, as well as independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, and good timekeeping are important for success in this role.
You also need strong customer service skills, a solid understanding of workplace health and safety, and the flexibility to work varied hours or public holidays when required. Experience using floor care equipment such as scrubbers, buffers, or sweepers would be beneficial.
Applicants must be 18 years or older due to company health and safety policies. All training and health and safety communication is delivered in English only, so strong spoken and written English comprehension is required.
